The Nevada State AFL-CIO Announces Enthusiasm for Brightline West After Senator Jacky Rosen Secures Federal Funding

The Nevada State AFL-CIO is thrilled to see the official approval of funding secured for the Brightline West high-speed rail project that will provide innovative transportation infrastructure from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, in addition to creating thousands of good-paying union jobs for residents under a project labor agreement.

“This is a great advancement in the interest of union workers that will have the opportunity to work on the Brightline West.” said Executive Secretary-Treasurer Susie Martinez “Senator Rosen has done a fantastic job of securing the funding for this project and we applaud her commitment in creating jobs for Nevadans.”

The agreement for Brightline West would not have been made possible were it not for collaborative efforts between government, private sectors, and organized labor ensuring this historic project is able come to fruition. This project is expected to make a lasting impact that will foster a standard for Nevada’s working families.
