Nevada AFL-CIO Congratulates State Senator Yvanna Cancela

Carson City, Nev. — Today, the office of Governor Steve Sisolak announced that former state Senator Yvanna Cancela will serve as the Governor’s Chief of Staff. Nevada AFL-CIO Executive Secretary-Treasurer Rusty McAllister released the following statement applauding this decision and congratulating the Senator: 

“Today’s announcement is a welcome one for the labor movement of Nevada. State Senator Yvanna Cancela has always centered the working people and families of our state in her work, both in the Legislature and, recently, in Washington, D.C. As a proud member of the Culinary Union Local 226, Senator Cancela cares deeply for our state’s workers and I am confident that she will continue to advocate for our union brothers and sisters in the Governor’s office.
